Fall Time

We have really enjoyed fall time in Chicago. The other weekend, Bella took time out of her busy schedule to really relax and soak up the sun.

Bella adores hanging out with Tim in the garage, almost as much as he loves it. Here, she is keeping a look out for unsafe creatures that may harm us. This was the beginning of our beer making! Our first brew was a Canadian Ale.

Bella loves her Aunt Shannon. Every time she sees Aunt Shan, Bella cries and cries and jumps onto her (like shown). Here, she is checking out Aunt Shan's new colts hat on Christmas Morning.

Bella's First Real Christmas

As you know, we are not sure what Bella's previous life entailed. So I believe this was Bella's first real Christmas. We spent it at the McCann household in Indy. Here, she is opening up her first present. I think it was a bone.

Bella's Homecoming

We picked Bella (then Roller) up from Glenwood Springs CARE Shelter in Colorado on August 17, 2007. I drove her to our home in Minturn, where she very timidly proceeded to sniff the entire house with her tail between her legs. She didn't wag her tail or eat her food for about 4 days, poor girl. The Shelter told us they picked her up in Denver. She was found with her sister, Derby, and a black lab. The dogs were fighting, and Bella had some wounds on her legs.

*Tim and I contemplated between Bella (then Roller) and the black lab, which we were going to name Guinness. Guinness was very clumsy and rowdy, which worried us with our small Minturn shack.

The Name

We pondered over the name of our soon-to-be dog for a while. Although we discussed many names, we ultimately wanted to wait to see if any of our name possibilities would fit the dog. Tim tried to pull some Steeler players' for names on me, but they didn't seem to fit for our first dog. We tried places we had met and lived in the Vail Valley (Gypsum, Eagle, Minturn, Vail, etc.), but none of them were cool enough. Tim came up with the name "Bella", and we both loved it. Little did we know, it would fit the name of our future dog perfectly.
